About Us
Our Story
Our story begins with two paths on the same island — one shaped by a calling to serve, the other by a lifelong commitment to the land and people of Haiti.
In 2010, just months after the devastating earthquake struck Haiti, Kristine first traveled there with a team of medical professionals providing emergency relief. Over the next few years, what started as a short-term mission quickly became a life-changing journey. By her third visit, Kristine felt a deep sense of purpose to serve more fully and, in 2013, she moved to Haiti to teach English at a nonprofit running a school, clinic, and children's homes. Though she returned to the U.S. in 2014, her heart remained tied to the country and the people she had grown to love. She stayed involved through lasting partnerships and friendships rooted in her time there.
Meanwhile, Gulbert was born and raised in the rural village of St. Jean du Sud in southern Haiti, where farming was a way of life. Determined to make a difference in his community, he pursued higher education and earned degrees in administrative science and agroforestry. With his background, Gulbert developed a deep passion for sustainable development and the potential of agriculture to uplift rural Haiti. He launched his own nonprofit organization focused on agroforestry, securing support from international partners in Belgium and beyond to grow his vision.
In 2023, Gulbert immigrated to the United States, where he and Kristine were introduced through his sister. Their connection was immediate — not only personally, but through a shared dream of empowering rural Haitians through sustainable, long-term solutions. They married in 2024 and set out to build something together: a nonprofit that would combine their experiences, insights, and love for Haiti to create lasting change.
Together, they founded this organization with one guiding belief: Haiti doesn’t need more aid — it needs opportunity. Through agricultural training, resource access, and community-driven development, they aim to help rural families thrive on their own terms. With Gulbert’s deep roots and expertise in agroforestry and Kristine’s years of service and cross-cultural experience, they are building a future where Haitians can live with dignity, security, and self-sufficiency.
This is just the beginning. Their hope is to one day split their time between the U.S. and Haiti — living, working, and growing alongside the very communities they serve
